Services and expertise
The IECB’s NMR platform is part of the Aquitaine NMR network, which brings together NMR facilities from Bordeaux to Pau (12 academic laboratories). The 800 MHz high field NMR spectrometer belongs to a French national network (IR-THC RMN) that is simple to access and provides innovative and efficient analysis.
Available NMR experiments
- Liquid state NMR experiments (1D, 2D, 3D NMR, DOSY experiment…) to characterise, assign or carry out structural and conformational studies on molecules of biological interest including nucleic acids, proteins, protein-ligand complexes or peptide-membrane interactions…
- Soft matter NMR: membrane, colloid or liquid crystal samples … (wide line, magic angle sample spinning and oriented samples)
- Solid state NMR experiments (CPMAS, PDSD, fast spinning) for structural studies or dynamics investigations. Potential samples include supramolecular assemblies, lipids, cellulose, materials, alloys…
Main domains of expertise
- Studies on lipids in all their states (2H-NMR and 31P-NMR), membrane proteins and antimicrobial peptides, colloids for health and oenology (tannin-protein or tannin‑membrane interactions)
- Protein-RNA complexes or protein-protein interactions
- G-quadruplex DNA and ligand interactions in living cells
- Structural and conformational studies of supramolecular and bioorganic molecules, foldamers and peptidomimetics
- Structural and dynamic studies of self-assembled macromolecules (amyloid fibrils, oligomers, nanoparticules…)

Access
- If you would like to do NMR experiments (with analytical assistance or free access to equipment) please ask the facility engineers for a detailed quotation.
- The 800MHz is available through the French national NMR platform, IR-THC (www.ir-rmn.fr). After evaluation and approval of a short proposal, a maximum of 15 days of experiment can be scheduled (free of charge). For more information, download the flyer and please contact
