Antoine Loquet has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant Last December, the European Research Council (ERC) awarded its ERC Starting Grants* to 328 projects, including Antoine Loquet’s project. Head of the Group « Solid-state NMR of molecular assemblies » at the IECB and Research Officer at CBMN (CNRS UMR 5248) since 2013, Antoine Loquet has just obtained an ERC Starting Grant for its project WEAKINTERACT (Weak interactions in self-organizations studied by NMR spectroscopy in the supramolecular solid –state). His work focuses on developing the state‐of-the-art Solid‐State NMR methodology (SSNMR), still considering as an emerging methodology in chemistry and structural biology, to characterize assembling mechanisms of macromolecular complexes. This funding will allow the purchase of new equipment for the 500MHz spectrometer of the Structural Biophysico-Chemistry Platform. IECB is now proud to be home to 4 ERC Grants, with the previous awards of Dr. Ivan Huc, Dr. Anne Royou and Dr. Valérie Gabelica. * : ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. The financial support shall be granted on the basis of scientific excellence at European level. A budget of more than 480 million euros is allocated to this call and recipients will be assigned a grant of 1,5 million euros on average to finance their projects over a period of five years. This action is open to researchers of any nationality who intend to conduct their research activity in any Member State or Associated Country. |
