Silver Medal of CNRS |
Silver Medal of CNRS This award recognizes a researcher for originality, quality and importance of his work recognized nationally and internationally. Jean-Jacques Toulme, director of the IECB, Erick Dufourc, director of the Laboratory chemistry and biology of membranes and nano-objects (CBMN), Eric Papon, Vice Chairman of the Scientific Council of the University Bordeaux 1 and Fernando Leal Calderon, representing Polytechnic Institute of Bordeaux (IPB) were in turn relayed to congratulate the "architect of molecules," creator of foldamers as Ivan Huc defines himself. The Director of INC, before the medal, returned to the remarkable career of Ivan Huc now Director of Research at CNRS, project leader and co-director of the IECB, and Deputy Director of CBMN. Ivan Huc then presented to the large assembly, his work on foldamers, these artificial molecules that mimic the ability of proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides to adopt three-dimensional structures folded well defined. He concluded by thanking his team of researchers and students from around the world. |
