A new mass spectrometry specialist!

Since January 2013, the IECB welcomes a new visiting scientist: Dr. Valérie Gabelica.

Addressing questions of fundamental interest in mass spectrometry, exploiting all its methods to help decipher the folding of nucleic acids and their self-assembly, and providing expertise in mass spectrometry and supramolecular complexes to complement biological methods , biophysics and structural biology, already available at IECB, are the goals of Dr. Gabelica.

Valérie Gabelica graduated in chemistry from the University of Liège, Belgium, where she obtained her PhD in 2002 under the supervision of Prof. Edwin De Pauw. After a year as a Humboldt post-doctoral fellow in the University of Frankfurt, Germany she spent tow more years post-doc at the university of Liège where she obtained, in 2005, a permanent position as an FNRS researcher associate.

For her arrival at the IECB, Valérie Gabelica obtained an ATIP/Avenir grant and a Marie Curie career integration grant; her team is affiliated to the  ARNA Laboratory (Inserm / Bordeaux Segalen U869).
